Hayden Childs Recaps Avatar: The Last Airbender

Outside of the histrionics of the Fire Lord and his cronies, Avatar has been mostly mum about the nature of evil. As in the real world, evil itself is a rather slippery concept. Jet’s approach to freedom fighting, for instance, included an act that most people would call evil—namely, the attempted drowning of a village full of civilians—although Jet himself justified it as a means to an end.
